Try using the Artisan beads on your Christmas cards this year by creating this interesting aperture card.
- Cut a 12.5cm square piece of patterned paper and glue centrally to the front of a square card. Outline with gold Christmas border stickers.
- Open the card flat and using the template provided, cut a Christmas tree aperture in the front of the card using a craft knife and cutting mat. Outline the aperture with gold straight line outline stickers.
- Open the card flat and punch three holes up each side of the aperture, ensuring they are aligned directly opposite each other. Repeat at the sides of the base with two further holes. Insert each with gold eyelets and set into place on the inside of the card.
- Cut a length of gold wire, straighten and bend a small loop at the end with round nosed pliers. Thread the wire with alternating coloured seed beads from the Artisan set. When you have threaded enough beads along the wire, bend the end of the wire to form another loop. Ensure the beaded section will hang freely inside the aperture and attach at each end with a jump ring to the eyelets at the side of the aperture. Repeat for all three beaded garlands across the tree. The red one that hangs across the base/ tree pot has been created in exactly the same way, however I have use a larger bead in the centre to suggest a bow or decoration.
- Attach a red star gem stone to the top of the aperture using adhesive dots.
- This design could be created using any colour scheme and a variety of beads.
